Special Issue on Computational Intelligence in Engineering Science: Selected Papers from ICCIES 2026
The rapid advancement of computational intelligence techniques — including machine learning, deep learning, fuzzy logic, evolutionary computation, and hybrid AI methods — has profoundly transformed modern engineering sciences. From smart manufacturing and autonomous systems to intelligent IoT ecosystems and digital communication networks, intelligent algorithms are driving innovation across all engineering disciplines.
This Special Issue is directly affiliated with the 2nd International Conference on Computational Intelligence in Engineering Science (ICCIES 2026), held on April 2–4, 2026, at Ton Duc Thang University's Nha Trang Campus, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam. ICCIES 2026 was organized by Ton Duc Thang University, in partnership with Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (Poland) and University College Dublin (Ireland), with participation from researchers, Ph.D. students, postdoctoral researchers, and industry experts worldwide.
This Special Issue invites extended and substantially revised versions of selected best papers presented at ICCIES 2026, covering the application of computational intelligence in Information Technology, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics, IoT, and Telecommunications. Submissions must extend the conference version by at least 50% with significant new experimental or theoretical contributions.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:
- Computational intelligence and machine learning for engineering applications
- Deep learning and neural networks for signal, image, and data processing
- Intelligent IoT and cyber-physical systems
- AI applications in electrical-electronics engineering
- Smart mechatronics and robotics
- AI-driven communication and network optimization
- Information technology and telecommunications
- Evolutionary computation and swarm intelligence
- Edge AI and embedded intelligent systems
- AI applications in information and telecommunication systems
Submission Instructions
Authors are invited to submit extended versions of their papers presented at ICCIES 2026. Submissions must:
- Extend the original conference paper by at least 50% with new experimental results, theoretical contributions, or additional case studies
- Be prepared according to the Journal of Information and Telecommunication author guidelines
- Be submitted via the journal's ScholarOne submission system — please select "Special Issue: ICCIES 2026" when submitting
- Include a cover letter stating the title of the original conference paper, the conference where it was presented, and a description of the new contributions
All submissions will undergo rigorous double-blind peer review. Manuscripts must not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Expected publication: 2027
