Intelligence Competency across National and Transnational Security Systems
C Competency frameworks, including core, functional, and technical competencies, are a key indicator of professionalization. Defining and developing intelligence competencies is essential for promoting and describing the expected functional behaviors of different intelligence professionals. Developing an understanding of the current state of competence-based intelligence training and education in transnational settings will allow assessment of gaps and needs for intelligence training in higher education and support the adaptation of intelligence organizations to change in an unstable security environment.
Sample submissions might include, but are not limited to
- Case studies and comparative analysis of existing competency frameworks in foreign and domestic intelligence, defense intelligence, and law enforcement
- · Professional profiles in any intelligence discipline that assist in defining competencies
- · Analysis and assessment of intelligence competency gaps and needs
- · Anticipating intelligence core competencies for future professional intelligence needs
- · Competences within technical intelligence
- · Adaptation of intelligence competences to digital transition, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies
- · Competence in intelligence research, such as international cooperation in building intelligence competencies
