High-Power Microwave (HPM) Devices and Systems: Progress, Technologies, and Applications
Over the past decade, High-Power Microwave (HPM) technology has witnessed a remarkable transformation, shifting from scientific research in specialized laboratory environments to deployable systems for modern defence applications and advanced industrial processing. HPM systems are now known for playing vital roles across multiple strategic domains and pushing the boundaries of peak/ average power, frequency agility, and compact packaging requires holistic optimization across an interdependent chain of sub-technologies. Therefore, this Special Issue places special emphasis on synergistic papers bridging source physics with downstream components, modules and sub-systems.
This Special Issue of the Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications aims to capture the latest theoretical breakthroughs, technological innovations, and experimental progresses in the area of HPM science. We invite researchers, engineers, and scientists to contribute original research and comprehensive review articles addressing the design, optimization, and real-world implementation of HPM devices and systems.
