Benefits of Publishing in an Article Collection

An Article Collection is an opportunity for your research to reach the right audience. Bringing together the work of the global research community, Collections provide readers with a central place to find the latest research on emerging and important topics. They have been found to increase the discoverability and visibility of each article, as well as article-level citations.

Real-World Evidence In Immuno-Oncology

We are pleased to announce a new Article Collection in Cancer Management and Research, dedicated to the importance of real-world evidence (RWE) studies in immuno-oncology.

While randomized controlled trials remain the gold standard for understanding the efficacy and safety of drugs under highly controlled conditions, real-world evidence studies help to reveal a treatment’s true effectiveness in everyday patient populations. Integration of RWE into decision-making processes reflects its growing importance as a supportive tool for both clinicians and patients, but also in shaping broader healthcare decisions and regulatory approvals. Given the global importance of real-world evidence in understanding developments in immune-oncology, Cancer Management and Research invites submissions of original research articles, reviews, and perspectives exploring real-world evidence in immuno-oncology treatments. The Collection, led by Editor-in-Chief Professor Yong Teng, will be included in Taylor & Francis’ Real-World Evidence Series. Papers published within the series will benefit from additional promotional activities across Taylor & Francis, increasing the discoverability and visibility of your research. The Collection is open to submissions across the broad spectrum of RWE research, with a particular interest in the following areas:

· Pragmatic clinical trials evaluating the effectiveness of immuno-oncology interventionsin routine, real-world clinical practice.

· Observational cohort studies using real-world data to evaluate immunotherapy treatment patterns, clinical outcomes, and factors associated with treatment response and resistance.

· Patient registry studies utilizing data from IQVIA, SEER, NHANES & UK Biobank. All patient registry studies must receive approval from relevant ethics committee and/or institutional review board before any patient data collection or enrolment begins.

· Comparative effectiveness, pharmacovigilance and drug safety research utilizing Electronic Health Record (HER) data to assess immunotherapy effectiveness, immune-related adverse events (irAEs), treatment sequencing, and safety outcomes across patient populations.

· Integration of RWE with health technology & AI to generate actionable clinical insights, support treatment decision-making, and identify opportunities to optimize immunotherapy outcomes..

· Immuno-oncology biomarker and treatment response research leveraging real-world clinical and molecular data to investigate biomarkers associated with response, resistance, and survival outcomes in patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors and other immuno-oncology therapies.

Dr. Yong Teng is a Professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine, Atlanta, Georgia, USA. His research interests encompass cancer biology and immunology, translational medicine, biomarker studies, and AI-driven computational approaches. He brings extensive experience in bridging basic cancer research with clinical applications.
