Benefits of Publishing in an Article Collection

An Article Collection is an opportunity for your research to reach the right audience. Bringing together the work of the global research community, Collections provide readers with a central place to find the latest research on emerging and important topics. They have been found to increase the discoverability and visibility of each article, as well as article-level citations.

Advanced Converging Technologies (Nano-Bio-Info-Cogno) for Sustainable Farming

Agriculture is facing unprecedented challenges arising from climate change, population growth, resource scarcity, biodiversity loss, labor shortages, and increasing demands for food quality and safety. Traditional farming approaches are no longer sufficient to simultaneously achieve productivity, environmental stewardship, economic viability, and social sustainability.

Recent advances in converging technologies, particularly the integration of nanotechnology, biotechnology, information technology, and cognitive technologies (NBIC), are creating transformative opportunities for the development of sustainable agricultural systems. These technologies enable intelligent sensing, precision management, autonomous decision-making, advanced biomaterials, digital twins, artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, and circular bioeconomy solutions capable of significantly improving agricultural sustainability.

The convergence of these technologies supports the transition toward Agriculture 5.0, where cyber-physical systems, human-centered automation, data-driven decision making, regenerative farming, and circular resource management work together to enhance resilience throughout agricultural value chains.

We welcome interdisciplinary research addressing sustainable engineering solutions across the agricultural value chain, including but not limited to:

Manuscript Submissions:

Manuscript submission is open until 30th June 2027.

Please carefully review the journal scope and author submission instructions prior to submitting a manuscript as it will be rejected if it does not fall within the scope of the journal.

All manuscripts submitted to this Article Collection will undergo desk assessment and peer-review as part of our standard editorial process. Manuscripts which do not fall within the scope of the journal will be rejected.

We are able to offer a 10% Discount to all authors, and have a limited number of 20% Discount codes only available for early submissions. It should be noted that discount codes must be entered in at the point of submission as they cannot be applied retroactively, nor can these be combined as only the higher valued discount would be applicable.

To submit your papers to this Article Collection, please:

  1. Check "Yes" for the question, "Are you submitting your paper for a specific special issue or article collection?"
  2. Select the relevant Article Collection from the drop-down menu under the question, "Advanced Converging Technologies (Nano-Bio-Info-Cogno) for Sustainable Farming"
  3. Enter the Discount Code on the Final Page (Services) in the “Apply Discount Code” box on the right-hand side of the screen, otherwise this will not be applied to your submission, and you could be then subject to the journal’s Full APC Fee
