Benefits of Publishing in an Article Collection
An Article Collection is an opportunity for your research to reach the right audience. Bringing together the work of the global research community, Collections provide readers with a central place to find the latest research on emerging and important topics. They have been found to increase the discoverability and visibility of each article, as well as article-level citations.
Real-World Evidence in Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice
We are pleased to announce a new Article Collection in Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice, dedicated to the important role of real-world evidence studies in pharmaceutical policy and practice.
While randomized controlled trials remain the gold standard for understanding the efficacy and safety of drugs under highly controlled conditions, real-world evidence studies help to reveal a treatment’s true effectiveness in everyday patient populations. Integration of RWE into decision-making processes reflects its growing importance as a supportive tool for both clinicians and patients, but also in shaping broader healthcare decisions and regulatory approvals.
Given the global importance of real-world evidence in understanding and managing pharmaceutical policy and practice, Journal of Pharmaceutical Policy and Practice invites submissions of original research articles, reviews, and perspectives exploring real-world evidence in pharmaceutical policy and practice.
The Collection, led by Editor-In-Chief Professor Zaheer-Ud-Din Babar, will be included in Taylor & Francis’ Real-World Evidence Series. Papers published within the series will benefit from additional promotional activities across Taylor & Francis, increasing the discoverability and visibility of your research.
The Collection is open to submissions across the broad spectrum of RWE research, with a particular interest in the following areas:
- Pragmatic Clinical Trials evaluating the effectiveness of an intervention in routine, real-world clinical practice.
- Observational cohort studies using real-world data.
- Patient registry studies utilizing data from IQVIA, SEER, NHANES & UK Biobank. All patient registry studies must receive approval from relevant ethics committee and/or institutional review board before any patient data collection or enrolment begins.
- Comparative Effectiveness, Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety research utilizing Electronic Health Record (EHR) data.
- Integration of RWE with health technology & AI, where results provide actionable clinical insights.
Submitting authors are eligible for a discount on the Article Publishing charge by reaching out to the Commissioning Editor Catherine Teng <catherine.teng@taylorandfrancis.com>. If eligible, the discount code must be applied at the point of submission. The deadline for submissions is the 1st of January 2028.
