Benefits of Publishing in an Article Collection
An Article Collection is an opportunity for your research to reach the right audience. Bringing together the work of the global research community, Collections provide readers with a central place to find the latest research on emerging and important topics. They have been found to increase the discoverability and visibility of each article, as well as article-level citations.
Artificial Intelligence for Biomedical Engineering and Digital Health
Research in Biomedical Engineering and Technology is pleased to welcome you to submit your research to the Article Collection "Artificial Intelligence for Biomedical Engineering and Digital Health".
Artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the most transformative technologies in biomedical engineering and healthcare. Recent advances in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, wearable sensing, and biomedical signal processing have enabled intelligent systems capable of supporting disease diagnosis, patient monitoring, rehabilitation, and personalized healthcare. The increasing availability of biomedical data from medical imaging, physiological signals, wearable devices, and electronic health records has accelerated the development of AI-driven healthcare solutions. As these technologies continue to evolve, interdisciplinary collaboration between engineers, computer scientists, clinicians, and healthcare practitioners has become increasingly important to translate research into real-world clinical applications.
This Article Collection aims to highlight recent advances in AI methods that improve healthcare delivery, diagnostic accuracy, clinical decision-making, and patient outcomes. AI technologies are increasingly being integrated into medical devices, mobile health applications, telemedicine platforms, rehabilitation systems, and digital health infrastructures. However, important challenges remain, including model interpretability, clinical validation, robustness, ethical considerations, privacy protection, and regulatory compliance. By bringing together high-quality research from academia and industry, this Collection seeks to provide a platform for innovative methodologies, practical implementations, and translational studies that bridge the gap between computational intelligence and clinical practice.
The Collection welcomes original research articles, review papers, short communications, and methodological studies related to AI applications in biomedical engineering and digital health. Topics of interest include machine learning and deep learning for disease diagnosis, medical image analysis, biomedical signal processing, wearable and IoT healthcare systems, intelligent rehabilitation technologies, explainable AI, predictive analytics, remote patient monitoring, healthcare robotics, mobile health applications, digital biomarkers, clinical decision support systems, multimodal biomedical data analysis, federated learning, and AI-enabled healthcare innovations. Interdisciplinary studies demonstrating practical clinical impact and real-world healthcare applications are particularly encouraged.
