Benefits of Publishing in an Article Collection
An Article Collection is an opportunity for your research to reach the right audience. Bringing together the work of the global research community, Collections provide readers with a central place to find the latest research on emerging and important topics. They have been found to increase the discoverability and visibility of each article, as well as article-level citations.
Biological Therapies in Chronic Bronchial Disease
Journal of Asthma and Allergy is pleased to welcome you to submit your research to the Article Collection "Biological Therapies in Chronic Bronchial Disease".
The introduction of biological therapy for use in bronchial disease, especially asthma, has had a major net positive effect on patients. Excitingly, the use of biological therapy is expanding to include other bronchial conditions beyond asthma, including Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and bronchiectasis. In real-world clinical practice, there is an overlap between these bronchial conditions, which worsens their prognosis and makes them more difficult to manage. We can draw on our experience of treating asthma with biologics (target selection, response measurement, etc.) and apply it to other forms of bronchial disease, viewed from a broader perspective.
COPD and Bronchiectasis are conditions that are difficult to live with for patients, and the availability of biologic therapy has changed the game for patients. It is also important to consider chronic bronchial disease from a broad perspective, as the experience gained over the years in the field of asthma can be applied to COPD and bronchiectasis. The goal of this Article Collection is to provide a forum for clinicians and leading experts in the field on the use of biological therapy used to treat bronchial conditions.
This Article Collection welcomes manuscripts on all biological therapies available to treat chronic bronchial disease. Some subtopics include, but are not limited to:
- Chronic bronchial disease viewed from a broad perspective.
- Pre-biologic assessment and choosing the right target in asthma.
- Measuring the response to biologics in asthma.
- Sustainability of the response to biologics in asthma: the clinical significance of relapse
- The impact of biological therapy on the trajectory of lung function in severe asthma: towards normalising the natural history of the disease.
- Biological treatment in patients with coexisting asthma and COPD.
- Biological therapy in COPD.
- Biological therapy in bronchiectasis.
- Biological therapy in chronic bronchial disease exacerbations.
- What lies ahead in the biological treatment of chronic bronchial disease.
- Scientific evidence supporting the use of biologics in treating chronic bronchial disease.
- Biologics to treat chronic bronchial disease in children.
Keywords: Asthma; COPD; Bronchiectasis; Biologics; Asthma-COPD overlap
